She earned her medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. She completed a family medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center McKeesport, in McKeesport, Pa., serving as chief resident and receiving The Resident Scholarship Award. During her post-graduate training she did research and presented to medical audiences on a variety of clinical topics. She went onto complete a geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center St. Margaret, in Pittsburgh, Pa. Dr. Chan is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Geriatrics Society, the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians, and the Pennsylvania Geriatrics Society. She has medical staff privileges at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
