Heywood A Haser, MD

Dr. Ridenour is a foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon who has extensive training in all conditions associated with the foot and ankle. He is a Pittsburgh native, growing up in Washington Township and graduating from Kiski Area High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Allegheny College where he majored in Biochemistry and played football for the Gators. He attended medical school at Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He stayed at Penn State to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery.Following this, he completed a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Duke University in Durham, NC. While at Duke, he was privileged to train under some of the most nationally recognized foot and ankle surgeons where he learned to assess and treat all disorders of the foot and ankle including primary and revision total ankle replacements.As a foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Ridenour focuses his practice on treating all orthopaedic conditions associated with the foot and ankle. He utilizes a team approach where patient-centered care is the primary focus in order to provide his patients with excellent outcomes. He continues to update his practice to provide patients with the latest advances in foot and ankle surgery and was fortunate to train with many of the surgeons who helped pioneer these techniques.Dr. Ridenour met his wife, Allison, while in high school at Kiski Area. Allison is a nurse practitioner and they were excited to return to their hometown where they look forward to raising their children. When not taking care of his patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends as well as many outdoor activities including golf, fly fishing, hiking and hunting. He is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. Dr. Ridenour looks forward to providing you with the best care and helping you on your way to recovery.

A four-year varsity letter award winner and captain of the Men’s Soccer Team at Brown University, where he received his undergraduate degree, Dr. Thomas received his doctor of medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He served an internship with Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA and residencies with Hamot Medical Center and Shriners’ Hospital for Children, also in Erie. His award-winning research and related articles have been written for notable publications such as Contemporary Orthopaedics, Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, Journal of Hand Surgery, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and the American Journal of Sports Medicine. Dr. Thomas and his wife Lesley are originally from Moon Township and currently reside in Moon. They have two children Garrett and Emma. Both of Dr. Thomas’s brothers are in the medical field.
