Founded in 1982, AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan is a medical assistance (Medicaid) managed care health plan, located in Harrisburg, Pa. It serves more than 100,000 medical assistance recipients in 15 counties throughout Central and northeastern Pennsylvania. In 1992, it received full National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accreditation. AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan is a member of the AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies, one of the largest organization of Medicaid managed care plans in the United States. Additionally, its corporate parent partners include Mercy Health System and AmeriHealth First.
