At Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh (DCPP), we're proud to do things differently. Our physician-owned practice follows the Direct Primary Care (DPC) approach, allowing us to spend all the time and energy necessary to educate patients on their bodies, be there when they need us, and help them to make decisions about their health in which they feel comfortable and confident. Most importantly, we practice preventative care, focusing on testing and lifestyle guidance to help patients be as healthy as possible before they get sick.

Dr. Emily Scott (she/her) is a doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with specialties in primary care, sports medicine and preventative medicine. A Pittsburgh native, she grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh and attended Duquesne University for her undergraduate studies, earning a bachelor's degree in biology and a minor in psychology. She then went on to study medicine at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine.She completed her residency in family medicine at the Washington Hospital in Washington, Pennsylvania, and her primary care sports medicine fellowship at the UPMC St. Margaret Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. There she cared for athletes from youth to professional levels at the University of Pittsburgh and Robert Morris University, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Passion, Shaler High School and more. Her passion for family and sports medicine is rooted in helping her patients achieve their functional goals to stay active, happy and healthy!
