Green Gables Restaurant

Tired of his 5 a.m. forays, a young farmer decided he had milked his last cow. He conceived the idea to build a roadside sandwich stand. This sandwich stand on Somerset Pike (Route 985) in Jennerstown evolved into the Laurel HIghlands landmark it is today, known as Green Gables Restaurant, a Wine Spectator award winner. The rustic, artistic setting of Green Gables provides tables an expansive view of the stream that feeds Stoughton Lake as well as mountain flora and fauna. Antiques, statuary, and fireplaces adorn the many rooms of the fine dining restaurant where new American cuisine features produce from regional farms combined culinary influences from around the world. The calming views and exquisite cuisine invite you to experience fine dining in a country setting. Green Gables hold monthly wine tastings and beer tastings in addition to occasional wine or beer dinners. Packages with Huddleson Court and the Mountain Playhouse are availabe.
