Formed in 1957, Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority is responsible for managing and disposing Lebanon County's waste. Based in Lebanon, Pa., the authority manages a solid waste disposal system for the County that is in accordance with the 2000 Lebanon County Solid Waste Management Plan. It recycles household hazardous waste, such as paint, car batteries, used oil, poisons, spray cans and more. In addition, Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority develops recycling programs for commercial, industrial, institutional and municipal establishments.
