History

At the young age of 12, Joe Gionti discovered something in the kitchen of Gotto's Restaurant in Meadville, PA that would change his life forever--a love for food. Eventually studying under the German Chef Gunther Ratzel, Joe fine-tuned his craft for creating uniquely delicious dishes before taking the position as Head Chef at Ernie Harmon's Restaurant. During the same year he opened his first establishment, The Wooden Keg. As Joe's culinary career unfolded, he became associated with some very well-known establishments in the Northwestern Pennsylvania area. In addition to being the Head Chef at the Ram's Head Restaurant, he also held the Head Chef position at the memorable Mark Anthony's Restauarant, which he had opened with his father, with dishes so flavorful they're still being mentioned today!
