FRANK J. PASQUERILLA CONFERENCE CENTER MARKS FIRST ANNIVERSARY, PA JOHNSTOWN - Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center located at 301 Napoleon Street in Johnstown, marks their one year anniversary this week with the return of the Showcase for Commerce. The Showcase for Commerce is being held May 27th and 28th at the conference center. Melissa Radovanic, director of sales at the conference center said "last year's Showcase for Commerce was the first large event that we hosted at the conference center. We are happy to mark our first anniversary with their return." Showcase for Commerce is the region's largest business and industry show and premier defense contracting exhibit. Ultimately, Showcase for Commerce brings companies together to develop new contacts, interact with regional and national organizations, and grow markets for their goods and services. Showcase for Commerce utilizes the entire conference center with its largest events bringing in more than 1000 people. Revenue generated from the conference center events alone will exceed $50, 000. Additionally, hotels, restaurants, and gas stations will benefit from the Showcase for Commerce attendees coming into the area. The 14, 000 sq. ft., state-of-the art conference facility took 12 months to complete. In total, $6 million was spent on the conference center as part of the Johnstown Renaissance project. Additional projects included the building of an intermodal transportation center and renovations to the Cambria County War Memorial. Together with the Cambria County War Memorial, the conference center offers 31, 000 sq. ft of banquet and meeting space. The award-winning Holiday Inn - Downtown Johnstown is adjacent to the hotel and provides an additional 9000 sq. ft. of conference space and 159 guest rooms and suites.
