Winona Bontrager, our director, founded Lancaster School of Massage ( LSM ) in September of 1991. She envisioned a massage therapy instruction program that encompassed the whole person, focusing not only on practical skills, but also on self awareness and interpersonal relationships. This multi-layered approach would provide a strong foundation for students to become well-rounded, professional massage therapists. LSM held its first classes in the Keppel Candy factory building at 329 North Queen Street. The school has grown and is now at 317 North Queen Street, where we occupy three floors in a beautiful historic building. Classes are held on the second and third floors, which allows us to offer massage therapy to the public on the street level. Winona leads a staff of eight who continue to shape the school as it grows. We are located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a regional center of agriculture, light industry and tourist activity. In addition to Lancaster School of Massage there are two major colleges in the area, three community hospitals, and a growing variety of natural health centers and activities. Lancaster is located in close proximity to the Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC. metropolitan areas. Terry Brown is a licensed massage therapist in Lancaster PA. She specializes in Swedish /Deep Tissue Massage. She received her training at Kripalu Wellness/Health Ctr, Lenox MA ,St. John Neuromuscular Pain Relief Institute.
