History

I worked at Temple University in their Housing Maintenance Operations Department for seven years and it was at Temple that I was introduced to Food Trucks. I always dreamed about what it would be like to own and operate a food truck so in 2009, as I was walking through the campus I came across a food truck with a for sale sign. I bought the truck later that year only to find out that I could not legally operate it because I did not have a food commissary. All the food commissaries in Philadelphia were either rented, too expensive or just plain ugly and disgusting. With the help of my family, we decided to build our own commissary! In December of 2010, our family restaurant opened in West Philadelphia, Guacamole Mex Grill! After opening the restaurant, we slowly started to plan for the launching of the truck. Finally in the fall of 2014, I had saved enough money to completely overhaul the truck and were able to open in April of 2015 on Temple University's campus!

Specialties

We specialize in authentic Mexican cuisines from the central, northern and gulf coast regions of Mexico. We're known in Philadelphia for having the BEST mole sauces!

There's a reason there is never a line here... you would think the business owners would maybe be a little introspective and make some changes. I guess not. 1) No one on a college campus wants to...

Ridiculously good tacos (with salsa verde!) Perfect amount of toppings, pork was delicious, and everything tasted fresh. The girl working was really nice, too. And for $5.50 (if I recall...

Visited this food truck when it was at the Porch at 30th about a week ago. It was good, but not too memorable. I do like that you can mix and match tacos. I opted for the 2 for $7 deal and got...
