Edward J Chang, MD, F.A.C.S.

Dr. Omar Abbasi is a specialist in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma and is a practicing eye doctor at Everett & Hurite Ophthalmic Association. A Michigan native, he graduated with honors from the University of Michigan and received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. Dr. Abbasi completed his ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan, where he was elected as chief resident his final year. He then trained under renowned glaucoma specialist Dr. Michael Kass at the Washington University Eye Center in Saint Louis, Missouri, where he completed a fellowship in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery. Dr. Abbasi has extensive experience with glaucoma lasers including both argon and selective laser trabeculoplasty (ALT and SLT), and endocyclophotocoagulation (ECP). He performs trabeculectomies, as well as the placement of ExPRESS mini-shunts and glaucoma drainage implants. Dr. Abbasi also is available for general eye care and consultation. He sees patients at his Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Monroeville, McMurray, Rostraver and Wheeling locations.

Dr. Pinchas Rosenberg specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases. He has been practicing at Everett & Hurite Ophthalmic Association since 2007 in over 5 different offices in Southwestern PA. Particular areas of interest include Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal vein occlusions, and Retinal Detachment. He co-authored the chapter on diabetic retinopathy in the authoritative "Netter's Textbook of Internal Medicine, 2nd edition". After receiving his medical degree in 2001 from Northwestern University in Chicago, he completed an internship at the Alton Oshsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. This was followed by a residency in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University/Ochsner and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of North Carolina in 2007. Dr. Rosenberg was a concert violinist and performed extensively prior to beginning medical school in 1997. He credits his musical training for the exacting standards and rigor he applies to his medical and surgical practice. He also prides himself on caring for patients with empathy and taking the time necessary for each patient. Dr. Rosenberg utilizes 23 gage/small incision vitrectomy surgery and brings extensive experience in complex retinal detachment repair. He sees patients in multiple offices providing a wide range of retinal services including complete evaluations of diabetic retinopathy, retinovascular and macular diseases. Fluorescein angiography and high-resolution OCT is available as an office procedure. Laser and surgical treatment of a variety of retinal conditions are also offered by Dr. Rosenberg.
