East Pennsboro Ambulance Service
East Pennsboro Ambulance Service Inc. (EPAS) was formed in 1987 through the merger of West Enola Fire Company and Summerdale Fire Company, which had been providing emergency medical services to the community since the 1940s. The service has evolved over the years, now operating independently with a dedicated Board of Directors comprised of local professionals, and handles approximately 5,200 emergency and non-emergency calls annually.
EPAS expanded its operations significantly in 2015 by collaborating with Holy Spirit EMS to offer Advanced Life Support services and extending coverage into Perry County. As part of its ongoing commitment to the community, the service has recently broken ground on a new ambulance station, set to enhance its operational capabilities and response times for local residents.
