Du Bois Fire Department
The J.E. DuBois Hose Company #3, originally organized as the John E. DuBois Steam Engine Company in February 1888, serves the City of DuBois and surrounding areas, including Clear Run and Treasure Lake. Based out of their firehall on First Street since 1961, the company is a Participating Department under the education program of the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
The company operates two engines, including a 2001 Smeal and a 1983 Mack, both equipped for effective firefighting. In addition to their emergency services, they support community activities by sponsoring local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, while also offering facilities for emergency shelter.
