Brenda Mendizabal, MD, is Director of Preventive Cardiology at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Mendizabal earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She completed her residency at Children's National Medical Center – George Washington University and then went on to complete a cardiology fellowship at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She also completed a preventive cardiology fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the only fellowship training program in the subspecialty of pediatric preventative cardiology in the entire country. Dr. Mendizabal is happily married and has two young children. She enjoys running, kickboxing, and traveling with her family.
