The Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County is a membership organization comprised of businesses ranging in size from large international corporations to sole proprietorships, and everything in between. With over 1, 000 members, the Chamber of Business & Industry of Centre County is one of the largest and most influential chamber/economic development organizations in Pennsylvania. The CBICC was formed when the State College Chamber of Commerce ( established in 1920 ) and the Centre County Industrial Development Corporation ( established in 1956 ) combined into a single entity in 1992, charged with developing the unified voice of business in Centre County. The Centre County Industrial Development Corporation remains the CBICC's legal entity for economic development and business financing in Centre County and is also the lead agency in the county for the administration of Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority loans. In addition, the CCIDC participates in sponsorship of Pennsylvania Economic Development Finance Authority loans. Since 1992, the CBICC has grown to over 1, 000 members including businesses and organizations of all sizes representing all segments of the business community. Its diverse and dynamic membership recognizes the value of the many products and services the CBICC offers, both for individual businesses and for the community as a whole.
