Her residency training was undertaken at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts and at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut. She gained further training through a fellowship in advanced GI surgery at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She speaks English and Urdu.
