Marion County Senior Citizens was founded in 1962 by a group of concerned citizens following the 1961 White House Conference on Aging. For the first 15 years, the group served as a social club where the elderly participated in quilting, ceramics and potlucks, however, by 1975 the group had established a number of health and social services programs. Between 1994 and 2004, MCSC opened three state-of-the-art senior center facilities Marion County Senior Center Complex, North Marion Senior Center and Fairview Senior Center Complex in Fairmont, Mannington and Fairview, W.Va. Marion County Senior Citizens has a staff of 125 employees, which includes registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, medical assistants, social workers, nutritionists, transportation providers and legal consultants.

Allegheny County Community has over 1.2 million residents and is home to a number of health care, educational and cultural institutions. Based in Pittsburgh, Pa., it has state-of-the-art technology, medical industries, an airport, a cultural district and a commitment to the environment, including reclaiming and redeveloping former industrial sites to turn into active economic and recreational uses. The county is home to organizations, such as the World Trade Center Pittsburgh, the Greater Pittsburgh World Trade Association, the Pittsburgh Council for International Visitors and the World Affairs Council. It also houses one of the first International Business Centers, located at the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh, which provides international business education and research as well as services to the regional business community. The Port Authority of Allegheny County is the 14th largest public transportation system in the United States.

Established in 2001, the Expressway Travel Center is a more than 75,000-square-foot facility and is operated by the Beaver County Transit Authority. The center is responsible for housing and maintaining the fleet of fixed route and paratransit vehicles, as well as to serve as the base for the Beaver County Transit Authority. The Expressway Travel Center features separate public and private spaces and interior and exterior illumination with decorative light fixtures. It maintains a park that is landscaped with a variety of trees, shrubs and perennial flowers. The Expressway Travel Center offers amenities, such as park and ride, bus boarding, ticket sales and customer information center.
