Beth Shalom is a conservative Jewish congregation located in Pittsburgh, Pa., offering religious services and educational opportunities for men, women, youth and children. Beth Shalom Preschool is for children aged 14-months through pre-kindergarten and offers a parent and child program for infant and toddlers, and Gan Shalom summer camp, an eight-week session for preschoolers. Congregation Beth Shalom offers a kosher catering facility for members and non-members, at home as well as in the synagogue. Its yearly gatherings include Shabbat dinners, an annual picnic, a sports luncheon, holiday celebrations, a spaghetti dinner, bridge Club and a victory party for new Americans. Beth Shalom University is a family program for youth and adults held during the fall and winter semesters. Formal classes and a lecture series, including special confirmation programming for ninth and tenth graders, are provided annually.
