Civil Air Patrol

Civil Air Patrol, founded in 1946, is a private, nonprofit organization performing homeland security and humanitarian missions for the United States It develops its country s youth and educates its citizens on the importance of air and space power. The organization offers both internal and external aerospace education programs, providing free classroom materials and lesson plans for aerospace education, and each year sponsors the one of the premier national conference in this field. Civil Air Patrol s cadet program trains young men and women in teamwork, moral leadership, aerospace education, technical skills to support emergency services, and military history and customs. It specializes in a variety of operations, including search and rescue, disaster relief, homeland security and counter drug reconnaissance missions. The organization is headquartered in Maxwell, Ala.
