Barbara Duarte Esgalhado, PhD Barbara Duarte Esgalhado, PhD, is a licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of chronic and terminal illnesses, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, depressive and mood disorders, generalized anxiety, and grief and bereavement. Dr. Esgalhado has a dedicated focus on immigrant and refugee mental health, LGBTQI+ health and wellness, positive aging, and substance use. She provides psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy, meaning-centered psychotherapy, and supports the creative process and artistic development in her patients. Dr. Esgalhado earned her PhD from Columbia University in New York. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Institute for Infants, Children, and Families at the Jewish Board for Family and Children’s Services, and her post-doctoral training at the National Institute of Psychotherapies and New York University’s Department of Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. She furthered her expertise in the psychological assessment and treatment of survivors of human rights violations with Health Right International and in the treatment of chronic and terminal illnesses at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Center in New York. Dr. Esgalhado welcomes patients ages 21 and older.

Sushmitha Mohan, PsyD Dr. Sushmitha Mohan, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist specializing in trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, suicidality, and self-harming behaviors. Dr. Mohan is a certified provider of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT) and is also trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and other evidence-based approaches. Dr. Mohan earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency in Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health in Canton, Ohio, and a fellowship at AHN Allegheny General Hospital/Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Mohan approaches therapy and intervention using a curious, inclusive, culturally sensitive, and person-centered approach and strongly believes in forming strong therapeutic alliances to foster a safe place for exploration, insight, and growth. She welcomes patients ages 10 and older.

Julie Pickholtz, PhD Julie Pickholtz, PhD is the Clinical Lead for the AHN Mental Health at Home Program and a clinical psychologist specializing in health psychology and rehabilitation psychology. Dr. Pickholtz is skilled in cognitive behavioral therapy and behavioral sleep medicine, providing evidence-based care for patients managing various mental health and behavioral sleep concerns. Dr. Pickholtz earned her PhD from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, where she further specialized in behavioral sleep medicine. She is board-certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Dr. Pickholtz welcomes patients ages 18 and older.
