Established in 1905, the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - East Liberty has a rich history dating back over a century. The library boasts impressive wall-sized murals by local artist Mary Shaw Mahronic, depicting the tales of King Arthur in the children’s room since 1935.
After a major renovation in 2010, the library now features a modern, LEED-Certified Silver building with a dedicated space for teens, 44 public computers, and four meeting rooms accommodating up to 100 people. A recent 9,000-square-foot addition has further enhanced the library, offering a welcoming environment for the East Liberty community.
