The PLEA Agency is a nonprofit organization helping individuals and families facing behavioral and developmental challenges through programs for living, education and advocacy. The organization s respite care program provides care for children with emotional, behavioral and developmental disabilities. Through its Compeer program, the organization provides volunteer mentors for adult mental health clients on a one-to-one basis outside a therapeutic setting. Its PLEA School is a licensed partial psychiatric hospitalization program for children of ages 3 to 14. The program also serves as an enrolled child s early intervention placement through local intermediate units. Its specialized instruction includes current data-based methods of intervention, such as verbal behavior, visual activity schedules and communication, fluency-based instruction, celeration charting and advanced applications of applied behavioral analysis.
