Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association is a nonprofit organization that provides recreational and therapeutic horseback riding to physically and mentally disabled people. The facility is located in Grantville, Pa., and has been operational since 1985. The volunteers provide riders with a range of services, such as assisting at lessons, cleaning stalls, mowing grass, and perform barn and office work. It serves more than 100 riders in lessons every week and one to four volunteers assists each rider per lesson. Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association organizes several fundraising events every year, including CATRA-Thon in October.
