Originally built in 1903 as the Gayety Theater, The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust purchased this 1300-seat venue in 1988. The theater was renamed the Byham Theater in 1995, in recognition of a gift from William C. and Carolyn M. Byham.

Beautiful theatre just a little tight on seating and getting in and out of there kind of a crazy cattle chute. The drink/snack setup is hectic at best and unclear as to where lines should start...

I love this theatre so much. It's so intimate and the acoustics are wonderful. I don't think I've ever had a bad time attending a performance. Staff are efficient with security, seating, etc.
