The Regional Family YMCA of Laurel Highlands maintains a fitness center and full-service gymnasium. It provides licensed child care services and recreational activities related to art, music and science. Located in Mount Pleasant, Pa., the organization offers the SilverSneakers fitness program, which focuses on improving muscular strength and endurance, mobility, flexibility and agility. The Regional Family YMCA of Laurel Highlands also conducts basketball and volleyball events. Its membership is open for youths, families, children and senior citizens. Its preschool program offers a variety of social and academic activities for children. The organization s child area features several toys, books, and arts and crafts items. The YMCA Children's Center works in partnership with the Hollidaysburg Area School District and Tyrone Area School District to provide before- and after-school programs to students in kindergarten through grade six. Its after-school programs include homework assistance, music and drama classes, field trips, snacks, and arts and crafts. The center also organizes day camps that include sporting activities and museum visits for teens between the ages of 12 and 16. The YMCA Children's Center is located in Hollidaysburg, Pa., and is operated by the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA, which is a nonprofit organization that offers various youth and community development programs. The organization offers a variety of sports activities, such as football, basketball, soccer, T-ball and gymnastics.
