Borough of Dormont, incorporated in 1909, is one of the first independent municipalities in the South Hills of Allegheny County in Pennsylvania. Various departments of the borough include administration, police, fire, taxes and finance, building, planning and code enforcement, and public works. It has various committees, such as finance and legal, public safety and service, community affairs, recreation, and property, supplies and planning. Borough of Dormont also provides recycling and trash collection, community recreation and parks, zoning and building, sanitary sewer services and schools. Its police department provides drug awareness resistance education, certified child safety, fingerprint and crime processing, civilian fingerprint services, and women s self defense programs. The borough offers community recreation through a community room, recreation center, pavilions and swimming pools. Borough of Dormont is headquartered in Pittsburgh.
