Beyond the Bars is a 501(c)(3) student-driven and community-based music and resource connection program in Philadelphia, dedicated to interrupting cycles of violence and divestment while empowering youth to recognize their potential as musicians and leaders. With over 45 music labs established throughout the city, the organization meets young people where they are, providing them with a supportive community and a platform for leadership through music.

By collaborating with over 75 community partners, Beyond the Bars creates an ecosystem of support that addresses systemic issues such as housing insecurity, educational divestment, and exposure to violence. Their programs cater to youth at every phase of the school-to-prison pipeline, offering community-based, diversion, and incarcerated youth programs that foster self-expression and personal growth.
