Bauer Hillis Funeral Home
The Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home of Rimersburg, established in 1912 by Cember "CB" Stewart, has been a pillar of support for the community for over a century. Originally located opposite the present site at Veterans Memorial Park, it moved to its current address at 758 Main Street to accommodate the growing preference for modern funeral services post-WWII.
Under the stewardship of James D. "JD" Miller and Margaret, the funeral home saw steady growth and enhancements, including the construction of the north wing in 1961. In 1980, Rimersburg native Richard D. Hillis took over, later renovating the building in 2000 to include a new arrangement office and family center. With a legacy of compassion, local resident Larry Bliss, who joined the team in 1993, became a licensed funeral director in 1996.
In 2010, Dick sold the business to Jack Bauer, leading to the renaming as Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home. Committed to upholding the tradition of care and attention, the funeral home remains a sanctuary where the community can expect the same level of compassion and support that has defined it for the past century.
