Appalachian Youth Service (AYS), established in 1977, is dedicated to the care and treatment of at-risk youth on its secluded 12-acre campus in Ebensburg, PA. The organization provides essential treatment, care, and education, aiming to help children develop healthy lifestyles free from abusive behaviors and criminal activity.
AYS operates a 15-bed residential facility and two Day Treatment Programs, utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while emphasizing Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), Trauma-Focused Care (TFC), and Trauma Responsive Care (TRC). Their programs are licensed by the Department of Human Services under the 3800 Child Residential and Day Treatment Facilities regulations.
