Andrea A Moreira, MD

Dr. Moreira is co-director of reconstructive breast surgery for AHN. She treats patients with these services: tissue flap and implant-based breast reconstruction, Resensation® in breast reconstruction, liposuction and fat grafting, surgical prevention and treatment of lymphedema including lymphaticovenous bypass and vascularized lymph node transfer, as well as cosmetic surgery. Dr. Moreira received a medical degree from the Federal University of Pará, Pará, Brazil. She completed her plastic surgery residency training at São Paulo Federal University, São Paulo, Brazil. She continued her education in the U.S. by completing a residency and a fellowship in plastic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Moreira is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Moreira has numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations. She is assistant professor of surgery in Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and she serves as an associate editor for Annals of Plastic Surgery. Her research interests include improving surgical and patient reported outcomes in breast reconstruction, microsurgical and implant-based breast reconstruction, Resensation in breast reconstruction, innovation in reconstructive microsurgery, surgical prevention and treatment of lymphedema, and advancing surgical visualization technology. Dr. Moreira speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
