STEM Coding Lab is a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing computer science education to under-resourced schools in the region. Through in-school, after-school, summer, and virtual programs, their team of educators equips students with the necessary skills to become creators of technology, rather than just users. With a focus on digital literacy, STEM Coding Lab aims to prepare children, especially those from underserved communities, for success in the digital global economy. Partnering with schools and after-school programs, STEM Coding Lab offers expert computer science instruction to students from kindergarten to eighth grade. Their mission is driven by the fact that there are currently thousands of open computer science jobs in Pennsylvania and nationwide, and yet less than 10% of K-8 youth have access to a foundational computer science course.
