ACCO Material Handling Solutions was established in 1904 as WeedChain Tire Grip Company in New York City. In 1912, the company acquired Oneida Community and formed the American Chain Company. Between 1913 and 1975, it acquired several companies throughout North America and England. In 1975, the York, Pa., company was acquired by Babcock & Wilcox, which resulted in one of the world s largest companies in the industry. In 1987, FKI PLC acquired ACCO and certain other holdings of Babcock International.
