History

Our founder, Debbi King, had over $200k in debt and in 1998 decided enough was enough. She spent the next few years learning everything she could about personal finance and paying off her debt. As a teacher, she realized that personal finance wasn't being taught in schools or being offered to adults as well. She opened The ABC's of Personal Finance in order to educate and empower everyone in the area of their finances so that they didn't have to go through what she did. And if they were already in debt, she wanted to help them get out and build their financial futures.
