Water Treatment Facility
The Vine Street Water Treatment Plant in Albany, OR, utilizes water from the 18-mile Santiam-Albany Canal, boasting a treatment capacity of up to 20 million gallons per day. This facility supports the water distribution system, which encompasses five storage reservoirs and approximately 190 miles of pipeline serving domestic use and fire protection needs across Albany and parts of Millersburg, as well as the North Albany County Service District.
Originally constructed in 1912, the treatment plant has undergone various expansions and upgrades to enhance its operational capabilities. Since the City of Albany acquired the plant and its associated assets from Pacific Power & Light in December 1984, it continues to play a vital role in maintaining water quality and service for the community.
