The Tropical Hut is a well-established pet store in Portland, Oregon, offering a wide range of reptiles, amphibians, freshwater fish, and plants. With one of the largest selections of reptiles and amphibians in the Portland Vancouver area, they specialize in captive breeding and have an impressive variety of species, including Poison Dart Frogs, Veiled Chameleons, Bearded Dragons, and more.
Originally opened in 1970 in Gresham, Oregon, The Tropical Hut relocated to its current location in 1976 to accommodate its expansion. Over the years, the store's focus shifted from fish to include birds, then dog and cat goods, and eventually became primarily reptile-oriented, discontinuing birds in the late 90's to concentrate on their extensive reptile collection.
