841 SE Cass Ave
Roseburg, OR 97470

History

The Place was originally Cass St Market in the 1800's (a butcher shop). If you're standing in front of the building there's a large grate, seemingly out of place but it did have a purpose at one time. The cattle would be brought down into the basement from there and butchered and then brought up into the building and put out for sale. At some point it became a beauty salon and then later it became the B&M and then changed hands once again and became the C&M tavern which ran for almost 40 years.

Specialties

Amazing, local craft beer and wines! Great, fresh made to order sandwiches and daily specials served from 7am to 12am. Free pool nights, relaxing atmosphere and fantastic seasoned bartenders. There's no better place to be than The Place!
