The Vanport Building in Portland, Oregon, is a seven-story facility that serves as a collaborative effort between Portland State University, the City of Portland, Portland Community College, and Oregon Health Science University. Opened in January 2021, it features a mix of academic, research, and civic facilities, including the College of Education and the School of Public Health, as well as retail spaces on the ground floor.
Named after the historic City of Vanport, which was destroyed in the 1948 Memorial Day Flood, the building was designed to enhance workforce development and educational opportunities. Its L-shaped design preserves existing structures while providing essential public services, including a dental clinic and low-cost mental health services for the community.
