The Dalles Lock and Dam, built and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is a significant hydropower facility located in The Dalles, Oregon. Since its completion in 1957, the dam has been a vital source of water for hydropower generation, navigation, recreation, fish passage, irrigation, and flood control in the Pacific Northwest.

This impressive project spans 192 miles upriver from the mouth of the Columbia River and has played a crucial role in providing over 9.2 billion kilowatt hours of electricity and facilitating the passage of up to 10 million tons of river cargo annually. With its concrete structure, navigation lock, spillway, powerhouse, and recreational facilities along Lake Celilo, The Dalles Lock and Dam stands as one of the top ten largest hydropower dams in the United States.
