Strip Stake is a sculpture by British artist Anthony Caro, created between 1971 and 1974. Made of steel, this abstract sculpture measures 57 1/8 inches in height, 31 inches in width, and 148 1/2 inches in depth. It is part of the Modern and Contemporary Art collection at the Portland Art Museum, acquired through the Clement Greenberg Collection Museum Purchase Funds provided by Tom and Gretchen Holce.

Currently not on view, Strip Stake showcases Caro's innovative approach to sculpture, highlighting his mastery of abstract forms and use of industrial materials. This steel sculpture is a collection of beams, it's shape reminds me more of a swing set (with no swings) then anything else. It is a sculpture I walked by countless times without seeing.. Fun...
