Stack Metallurgical Services Inc., established as Stack Heat Treaters in 1984, is one of the leading providers of heat treating services in the Pacific Northwest. Based in Portland, Ore., the company operates through the Aluminum, Endothermic and Vacuum/Ion Nitriding departments. Stack Metallurgical Services Inc. acquired the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap) certification in 1996. The company is a recipient of the Air Agency Certificate that qualifies it to operate as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified repair station for heat treatment. It has affiliations with various organizations, including ASM International, Heat Treating Network, Metal Treating Institute and National Association of Manufacturing.
