South Lincoln Ambulance, Inc. (SLA) is a non-profit organization that has been providing first aid and ambulance services to the residents and visitors of South Lincoln County and North West Lane County, Oregon since its establishment in 1966. Originally formed as an extension of the Yachats Volunteer Fire Department, SLA operates as a separate entity with a five-member board of directors. Dedicated to keeping an insured, licensed, and stocked ambulance in the Yachats Rural Fire Protection District (YRFPD) station, SLA relies on donations and billing for ambulance services to fund ambulance insurance, maintenance, repairs, and medical supplies.

Committed to serving the community, SLA's board of directors consists of uncompensated volunteers, and the organization has no employees. With a history rooted in community support, SLA continues to keep ambulance transport rates as low as possible, allowing individuals to pay at their own pace. The majority of residents in the district have expressed their desire to maintain the ambulance service provided by SLA, highlighting its importance in ensuring the safety and well-being of the local community.
