The Pacific Northwest Mennonite Historical Society (PNMHS) is dedicated to preserving and documenting the history of Mennonite and related groups in the Pacific Northwest. With a focus on collecting, organizing, and preserving records, writings, and artifacts, PNMHS serves the congregations and communities of Anabaptist Mennonites in the region. Mennonites, a subset of the Anabaptist movement, hold unique positions on personal discipleship, believer baptism, separation of church and state, peace and justice, and non-involvement in the military. The PNMHS Library houses a collection of over 3,000 volumes, including an extensive genealogy section and books authored by Mennonites, while the PNMHS Archives store a variety of collections categorized as Personal, Congregation, Conference, Institution, and Miscellaneous.
