I really never wanted to own a barbershop. Actually I didn't want the stress of owning another business. But while I was out looking for a great shop with low chair rent so that I could better provide my children and mother... I couldn't find a barbershop in Portland that offered this. In other parts of the country this is the norm. In Portland, however, it is not. So I created what I was looking for. What I thought to be fair. And what I would be looking for if I were a client. Old school barbershop charm with well trained passionate humble barbers. And for my barbers, a comfortable no-drama work environment, for them to have the freedom to make their own schedules, sell their own product, pay a low chair rent and keep more of their income to provide more for their families.
