The Portland Adult Soapbox Derby is an annual event held in Mt. Tabor Park, Portland, Oregon, where gravity-powered soapbox racers tear down the hills in a thrilling display of speed and creativity. Started in 1997 by a group of dedicated individuals, this volunteer-run event has grown to become a beloved tradition in the community, attracting thousands of spectators each year.
With over 150 volunteers and 42 race teams participating, the Portland Adult Soapbox Derby showcases the ingenuity and passion of its participants, who build their own vehicles of death and destruction.
