P'nai Or of Portland is a vibrant, egalitarian Jewish congregation founded in 1991 by Rabbi Aryeh Hirschfield. The community welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those steeped in Jewish knowledge, interfaith families, and newcomers to Jewish learning.
Affiliated with ALEPH, The Alliance for Jewish Renewal, P'nai Or draws inspiration from Torah, Kabbalah, and the teachings of Chassidic masters, as well as contemporary Jewish and non-Jewish sources. The congregation celebrates the Divine reflected in everyone, fostering inclusivity among LGBTQ individuals, Jews by birth, and Jews by choice.
