History

Panache Hair Lounge is owned and operated solely by Caitlin. I attended the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis in 1988. I spent 16 years working in Uptown Minneapolis before moving to Portland in 2004 and then Cannon Beach in 2005 where I first opened Panache. After 8 years there, it became clear that I needed a larger population to establish a more regular clientele. So I moved the salon to Astoria in the Fall of 2014. And now I am located on Pier 39 in Astoria! My favorite location ever! It's just myself and I'm vaxxed and boosted so you can feel quite safe from the pandemic with no one else around. Also, the Pier is 100% No Smoking, Cameras are Everywhere for your security! This is very important to me as I don't want myself or my clients feeling unsafe. Speaking of Safety, please be aware that Pier 39 is built on 3 islands of cement that are bolted into the bedrock of the river. We're not going Anywhere!!

Specialties

My best specialty is listening to what a client wants as well as being honest about what is possible with their hair. I am especially good with curly hair as well as hair that's very fine - or both. A lot of curly-haired people have a very hard time finding someone to cut their hair - I have been told by my last 6 curly clients that mine is the best cut they've ever had. I also excel at bobs, they take precision. I also love Clipper Cuts! I love very natural-looking highlights and all-over colors. I also absolutely LOVE all-over bleach especially with the new products to keep your hair strong while bleaching. I use Pro-Force Bond Enhancer by Framesi - the Italian Color Line I use. Color correction is another one of my Strengths. I am also now offering Balmain Human Hair Systeme Volume Extensions. These are extensions that are bonded with silicone to give you thicker hair in the front sides. I include the removal in the cost - it will NOT harm your hair when I remove it. I am happy to install just a single streak of purple, blue, whatever! Also Feathers or Tinsel. Let's have some fun!
