Brett M Andres, MD
Knowing that orthopedic patients often face complicated decisions, Dr. Brett Andres places a great emphasis on accessibility and communication. "I have always tried to approach my patients like I would a member of my family," he says. "I often ask myself, what would I do if the patient was my sibling or parent?"Educated at Yale University, Dr. Andres went to Johns Hopkins for medical school and his orthopedic residency. He spent a year as a research scholar, followed by four years as an orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. Air Force, which included a tour of duty in Iraq. He then completed a fellowship in shoulder surgery and sports medicine in Sydney, Australia.Through it all, Dr. Andres has been in tune with ongoing advances in orthopedics and sports medicine that make treatment more precise and surgery less invasive. "In shoulder surgery, we finally have viable options to treat massive, previously irreparable rotator cuff tears with patches and reverse total shoulder replacements," he says. "In knee surgery, our ability to recreate the natural anatomy of the ACL during reconstructive surgery has greatly increased."

"Once it was determined I needed hip replacement, I set up an appointment with Dr Christopher Nanson because according to my regular orthopedic, Dr Nanson is the guru of anterior hip replacement..."
