Ocean Haven Yachats

Ocean Haven is an oceanfront boutique hotel / Inn halfway between Cape Perpetua and Heceta Head Lighthouse with a 40-year history with guests who return year after year for vacation, the celebration of milestones, personal retreat, or to finish that project or write that book. Ocean Haven is not for everybody. There is wifi but there are no televisions or landlines in the rooms. It is 7 miles from Yachats proper sitting on an Ocean Bluff all by itself. For others, Ocean Haven is the oceanfront home-away-from-home they have been looking for all their lives. Breathtaking, funky, mellow, cool, chill, kind, stunning, thought-provoking, healing, magical, glorious, peaceful, these are the words people use to write about Ocean Haven. Each unit has a separate kitchen with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and the basics utensils and dishes you need to prepare your own meals. Or you can head into Florence or Yachats for some of the best seafood on the coast and an abundance of other dining choices. You can hike on one of many trails around us or spend your days in a recliner with a blanket and a book, gazing out the window at the often wild surf. There is a trail to a sandy beach, tide pools teeming with marine life, a seal colony, pelagic & shorebirds, eagles & wandering whales await you. There is a phone available for 24/7 guest use, or when there is an emergency or your adult children are worried about where their parents are. Most people with smartphones can get phone service over wifi. We have (2020) recently upgraded to a mesh wifi system for better coverage. There are kitchens and books in every room and a large selection of games we can haul out of the office for you. (The office is now and probably permanently closed for social distancing reasons). Self-check-in is easy. No smoking or pets on the premises. In order to preserve precious guest privacy, water, and our sanity, we do not provide daily room service and are priced accordingly. We do happily provide housekeeping services during longer visits by request. Ocean Haven is best enjoyed during for longer visits. It is not ideal for passing through for the night on a raod trip up or down the coast. We have minimum stays depending on the season and have a booking policy that is preferential to longer visits. Nobody ever wants to leave, plan accordingly!
