This is basically a nice walk mostly in the woods so it's shady. We went in August. There is free parking at the entrance, and an information stand. There is also an office but we didn't go in....
If you like nature trails, this would be a great place to explore. Ponds, woods, creeks and all sorts of trails. Wildlife and plants.
Thank you, New River Nature Center, for providing a pit toilet 5 miles off the highway in a state that doesn't believe in rest areas! Plenty of parking, no crowds, grassy area for the kids to work...
