New expressive Works

New Expressive Works (N.E.W.) is a dynamic collective founded in 2012 by Subashini Ganesan, who serves as Portland's Creative Laureate. It provides a supportive environment for over 200 multicultural and multidisciplinary performing artists to research, create, and perform, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and challenging artistic stereotypes.

Each year, N.E.W. engages over 7,500 members of the community through a variety of programs, expanding access to the arts and empowering diverse voices. The organization has received recognition for its contributions, including the RACC's 2018 Juice Award and White Bird's 2019 Community Engagement Award, highlighting its commitment to making affordable artistic spaces available for all.
